| The prevention and early detection programs and activities conducted by The Cancer Council Queensland aim to reduce the incidence and mortality of cancer in Queensland. It is known that some cancers can be prevented, either because we know what causes them or we have screening methods that can detect precancerous changes. For cancers that cannot be prevented, early detection provides an opportunity for prompt treatment and improved health outcomes.
